Lumaverse Technologies solutions helped customers find brighter ways to connect in 2021, as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to bring uncertainty to daily life. Our team focused on empowering people to change the world together, providing technology solutions to help simplify scheduling, volunteer and member management, event planning and fundraising.
Customers used Lumaverse solutions to coordinate volunteers, plan food drives, raise money for neighbors in need, schedule appointments, manage school communities and much more. We are honored to help people accomplish their goals and make a difference in their communities, especially during this challenging time.

Lumaverse Growth and Recognition
2021 marked an exciting new chapter in the Lumaverse story. L2 Partners announced a recapitalization of Lumaverse Technologies in September 2021, partnering with existing investor PSG to accelerate organic and inorganic growth. The new partnership will give Lumaverse more resources to expand its platform with new capabilities that deliver value to customers.
We were honored to be recognized as a 2021 NC TECH Awards finalist in the Software Company of the Year category. Members of our support and marketing teams had a great time celebrating at the awards banquet in Raleigh, and we have the photos to prove it.
In December, the Charlotte Business Journal named Lumaverse one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in the Charlotte area for the second consecutive year (in addition to five years on the list as SignUpGenius). Lumaverse ranked #32 on the Fast 50 list.
Lumaverse Gives Back
Cardz for Kidz
Lumaverse is a gold sponsor for Cardz for Kidz, a nonprofit that delivers inspiring handmade cards to children, families, seniors, and veterans in hospitals, schools, senior living facilities, and other nonprofits. Our team made hundreds of cards and bookmarks in 2021 and has donated more than 1,000 cards to date. Lumaverse is one of the top six sponsors for Cardz for Kidz, helping to grow the nonprofit’s outreach worldwide in 40+ countries.
Lumaverse Giving Program and Giving Tuesday
Giving back is built into the Lumaverse culture. The company gave $40,000 to world-changing nonprofits in 2021, with most donations going to causes chosen by employees. The company matches team members’ charitable donations up to $500 annually, in addition to our Giving Tuesday giving tradition.
We celebrate Giving Tuesday each year by empowering each employee to give back to causes they are passionate about. Each employee may select a nonprofit that Lumaverse will give a $250 donation to on their behalf – the company gave $16,750 to 67 nonprofits worldwide in honor of Giving Tuesday in 2021.
We were grateful to fund the world-changing work of nonprofits in such as Beds for Kids, ChickTech, Charlotte Community Health Clinic and Innocence Project to name just a few.
Kentucky Tornado Relief
The team behind our Learning Stream solution is based in Louisville, Kentucky. To support communities in Kentucky impacted by the devastating tornadoes in December, Lumaverse made a $5,000 donation to the Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund.
SignUpGenius Back-to-School Giveaway
SignUpGenius sponsored its annual back-to-school giveaway with a $5,000 cash prize to the winning school to spend on students and teachers.
Freedom Hill Elementary School in Vienna, Virginia was randomly selected as the winner! The school planned to use the gift to increase outdoor lunch seating opportunities, purchase developmentally appropriate instructional materials for students, and provide classroom material stipends for teachers.
Life at Lumaverse
Lumaverse continued to prioritize taking care of our team during the pandemic, offering remote and flexible work, unlimited PTO and 100% coverage for health insurance (as always). We are proud to now have almost 100 colleagues (Lumans) to serve and meet our customers where they are.
We keep the fun going throughout the year by surprising team members with Lumaverse swag and treats such as for National Peppermint Patty Day. Team members were invited to submit photos wearing their new Lumaverse branded socks out and about for a Traveling Summer Socks contest. The team voted on their favorite sock shots at the beach, playground and more!
Lumaverse took virtual holiday parties to the next level this year, starting with the ultimate Halloween trivia contest. Questions covered spooky-themed topics from celebrity costumes to name that tune. We celebrated the holiday season with an ugly Christmas sweater party that would make Buddy the Elf proud. The team received Lumaverse hoodies for the holidays along with everyone’s favorite chocolate gourmet popcorn.
Focus on 2022
We’re grateful for another year of fast growth and the opportunity to support Lumaverse customers making an impact in so many ways. We’re focused on developing more tools to empower you in 2022, including the launch of LumaPay, a new simple and powerful way to collect money online.
