In our employee spotlight series, Into the Lumaverse, we go behind the scenes with a team member to learn who they are, what they do, and what brightens their day. Today we’re proud to introduce Sandi Benda, an Implementation Specialist for Learning Stream and GoSignMeUp.
In 2012, Sandi joined the GoSignMeUp team to develop trainings and improve customer communication as the company created streamlined solutions for online registration software.
Currently a wife of one, mom of four humans, and mom of two doggies, Sandi spends her free time going to the beach with her husband, taking care of her kids and hiking with the dogs. Sandi hopes to be a grandma to many so that she can travel and host the family for parties.
Lumaverse employees work all over the world. Where are you based?
Mission Viejo, California
What is your job here, and what does it entail? What are your primary responsibilities?
I am an Implementation Specialist for Learning Stream and GoSignMeUp Online Registration Software. I work with clients one-on-one to analyze their needs and configure their registration system that is optimized to simplify user experience and improve efficiency. I conduct trainings to personalize the client experience and answer any questions. Throughout the client’s time with Lumaverse, I continue to support their needs.
What do you like about working here?
My favorite part about working here is the people I work with. My coworkers are the most intelligent, hard-working, dedicated and fun colleagues I have ever had the privilege to work with – not only in my solution/brand, but throughout the entire Lumaverse family. I have not met many of my colleagues face-to-face, but I feel close to them. Through book clubs, online parties and volunteer projects we all get to know each other and have become close.
What have you learned from working with our customers?
Our customers are smart and quick learners! We provide solutions that are intuitive, and our customers adapt seamlessly. I have learned how valuable our product is and it makes me proud to enable clients in this way – I am truly making a difference in the lives of others.
What is your favorite volunteer opportunity in your community?
My favorite community center to volunteer at is Saddleback Church. I volunteer for the meals ministry, which entails cooking and delivering food to people who are sick or recovering from surgery. Over the past 15 months I also volunteered to deliver groceries to families who were at high risk for contracting Covid.
Any professional accomplishments?
I have successfully trained over 300 clients to use our software, which provided educational opportunities from art classes to law enforcement, nursing, education and so much more.
What is your dream job or ultimate life goal?
My ultimate life goals are primarily family oriented. While working hard and being good at what I do is important, my goal is to raise happy, healthy kids who contribute positively to our world. I would be most satisfied to see all my kids and grandkids grow up to obtain great jobs and achieve their goals.
Any unusual abilities or facts about yourself?
I enjoy quilting and was a prominent member of a guild in Mission Viejo for a while, but do not find the time to do it as much as I used to. I also ran the Los Angeles Marathon in 2016.
How do you spend your free time?
I like to go hiking with my husband and dogs, Faith and Obie. My husband and I also love wine tasting. One of our favorite destinations to travel to is Napa to try the wineries there. I am looking forward to traveling again so that I can see unique places, visit family and taste wines.
