The group management and collaboration platform is recognized in the Software Company category
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina Technology Association honored Lumaverse Technologies as a 2021 NC TECH Awards finalist in the Software Company of the Year category. The awards program is dedicated to celebrating the best and brightestin North Carolina’s tech sector.
The software category recognizes companies that have demonstrated strong performance and/or achieved a milestone of notable success over the last year. Finalists and winners were chosen in a two-stage review process, led by the accounting firm Cherry Bekaert, in partnership with an independent selection committee. Winners will be announced during the NC TECH Awards gala on November 3.
“For over 20 years, NC TECH has celebrated companies, organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement at the NC TECH Awards. As a finalist this year, Lumaverse Technologies has distinguished itself as one of the state’s innovative and emergent leaders,” stated Brooks Raiford, NC TECH’s President and CEO.
Lumaverse Technologies launched in June 2020 to deliver more value to SignUpGenius customers, creating a suite of software tools that simplify group management and collaboration for any organization. Lumaverse products include leading solutions in these areas: online sign ups, appointment scheduling, registration, volunteer and event management, membership and donor management, and crowdfunding.
“We’re thrilled to be part of the innovation thriving in North Carolina and thank NC TECH and Cherry Bekaert for recognizing our Lumaverse team,” said Chief Executive Officer Mike Barros. “Technology is more critical than ever to help communities connect, and it’s inspiring to see how groups use our software solutions to engage their constituents. Every day, we empower people to change the world, together – by meeting our customers where they are and accelerating their missions.”
Lumaverse has continued rapid growth during the pandemic, connecting people with tools to support their communities and engage in new ways. People use Lumaverse software solutions to coordinate socially distant events, volunteers, community relief efforts such as food drives, COVID-19 testing, training and more. Scheduling solutions SignUpGenius and TimeTap played key roles in the COVID-19 vaccine distribution, helping to coordinate millions of vaccination appointments in every state including hundreds of vaccine mega-sites.
In early September, L Squared Partners announced a recapitalization of Lumaverse Technologies along with existing investor PSG, a leading growth equity firm partnering with middle-market software and technology-enabled services companies. The new partnership will accelerate the next phase of company growth with a focus on expanding the software platform and strategic acquisitions.
